Monday Challenges

Hi everyone.  I just finished a card that I am going to enter into a couple of challenges.  The first is Digi Monday over at Paper Playtime.  The last Monday of the month is a digi stamp challenge.  This is the first digi stamp I have ever used but I just loved Gillian over at Prairie Fairy Designs.  You can see all of their  downloads HERE  I actually bought three.  Some really nice designs.  I think she came out cute for the first try.  The second challenge is over at Fantabulous Cricut. Monday Challenge #49 is to make a shaped card.
I bought the Nursery Rhymes Cartridge a few weeks ago when Michael's had their $10.00 sale.  I don't think I am going to get too much use from it but I wanted to see if I could use any of the cuts for this challenge.  Well each page has a monogram feature.  I decided to use my gypsy to weld two together.  I hid the monogram.  Then cut a smaller one for the inside layer.  Here is the card.  What do you think?

Recipe:
Card cut at 5.5 tall and stretched to 4.25 wide
Inside layer approx 1/2 inch smaller
Embossed the inside layer with my cuttlebug
Added some gathered ribbon and a sentiment tag that I have had forever
Gillian was cut at 3.75 (Isn't she too cute)?
Well that's it for now till I find something else to challenge me.  I am hoping to get a Flip camera sometime this month the I will have to learn how to video some of my projects.  ANOTHER FIRST.  Yikes!!!
See you later..................play nice.

Happy Birthday Cards

Hi,  It's me again!
Had to make a couple of birthday cards for a special order I received yesterday at the craft show.  They are for two sons-in-law.  Both like to cook so I wanted to do something in a food theme.  What do you think?

I think this is the cutest card.  It's a Big Mac.  Well it really doesn't have any special sauce but it does have lettuce tomato and cheese.  All made with simple cuts.
 Two ovals that are 3x2.25...........Bun
One 2 inch scalloped circle..............lettuce
One one inch square................cheese
One small oval in red............tomato
I dotted the top of the but with my brown marker
Triple mounted with white 3x3 1/4
Craft at 3 1/4 x 3 1/2
Black 3 1/2 x 4
I rounded all the corners and put a brad in each.
The sentiments were computer generated and cut free hand.
Cute huh?
The second card took me FOREVER cause I could not figure out how to cut the grill and make the colors come out.........Finally the third time was a charm.

Grill is from From My Kitchen page 41
Looking at the book, it is not easy to figure out which is cut in what color.  Finally found that layer one was the orange layer.  I was not having fun.
All layers cut at 3.13.  This paper is from my stash
DSP from my scraps and I don't remember what book
Mustard, Ketchup and hamburger are Jolees
I like the finished product.  It is simple but to the point.
Sentiment computer generated.
Well that's all for today.  I am going in the pool...............82 here today and water is 80...Sorry
Can't wait to get back in the challenges and hops next week.
See Ya............play nice

Hello Sunday

Hi everyone...Well I am finally back.  Had another craft show yesterday.  Two shows in two weeks, a lot of work and little time for fun blogging.  Here are a few pictures of yesterday's show.

As you can see my space was limited.  One 8 foot table plus my card rack.

This shows the easel that my husband made me.  I put a magnetic white board on it to display my grocery lists.  That really makes a difference cause people can see what they are used for.  Went quite well.

In this picture note that I have some other items besides paper product.  I did mention that I like all kinds of crafts didn't I?  In the back are microwave potato bags.  If you haven't tried them you must.  I cooked a whole acorn squash just washed and put in bag.  4 minutes on one side and 4 minutes on the other.  Came out and cut in half like butter.  Scooped out the seeds and wow beautiful squash bowls.
Also you can see that some of the post-it-note holders are a red hat theme.  This show was in a mobile home park and red hatters are popular in them.  Sold several.  Also had a few sugar scrubs left from holiday orders so I included them.

This is just a picture of my card rack.  It was a little expensive, around $80.00 when I bought it last year, but selling cards is a lot easier with the revolving rack.
Well that is all for this post.  I will be back shortly to post a couple of special order cards I made today.
See Ya............play nice

Hoppy St. Patrick's Day

Hi there everyone.  Just put together this cutie for the Cricut Cardz Challenge #63 HERE.  The challenge is to make a St. Patrick's Day card using any colors and no shamrocks.  Well I tried to think of what else might be wearing the green for St. Patrick's and came up with the frog from Create A Critter.  I bet it IS EASY BEING GREEN on St. Patrick's.  He looks very hoppy..............er I mean happy.

Recipe:
Cardstock from generic stash
DSP from last years K&Company 8.5x8.5 holiday stack
Card from George and basic shapes -2 welded at 5 inches
The frog and all his part was cut at 3 inches.
Pot of gold and hat are from PDDU
YIKES! I deleted the program before writing down their sizes.................sorry
I used my gypsy and just kept increasing the sizes to fit the frog.

I was going to give him the orange beard too, but his cute little cheeks are just too puffy.  It did not look right.  Oh well I never saw an orange bearded frog before anyway.  Hope you all like it.  Let me know
See ya,,,,,,,,,,,,,,play nice.

Craft Show 2/19

This past Saturday I had a craft show locally.  Thought I would post a couple of pictures.  My biggest seller was my cards.  All in all it was a good day. Another one coming up this coming Sat.  then I think that is all for a while.

A good time was had by all.  I was surprised that all my kids cards sold.  This was in a mobile home park and eveyone bought cards for their grand children.  Guess I will be making some more before Sat.  Also St. Patrick's Day and Easter cards.
That's all for now.

Scrappy Moms Challenge-Cardz TV

Hi Everyone.  Thought I would put together a card for a couple of challenges.  The first is the Scrappy Moms challenge HERE.  This week we are to use Create a Critter.  Not difficult cause I love that cartridge.  The second challenge is over at Cardz TV and Mary is having a spring theme challenge.  You can see that HERE.  I love the deer cut on this card.  She sure looks like she is enjoying spring.  Check it out..

This is an A2 size card.
Cardstock in Stampin Up
DSP is from a new pack I picked up at Joanns by K & Co. for Spring.  It has 104 pieces and some of the prettiest papers I have seen in a while.
Deer cut at 3 inches
Flowers at 1.59
Grass at 1inch
Added some stickles and a pretty flower for the deer

I think it came out cute.  What do you think?
Thanks  I be back with a posting re my craft show this past weekend.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Hi Guys.  Back again with a quick post for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge this week.  See it HERE.  What is your favorite season.  Well I live in Florida so maybe you can guess, but here is my card.

Card base is from the prefolded card stacks from Michaels.  DSP are from my scraps bin.
Poodle from create a critter cut at 2.56, sun 1.62 and peachy keened!!!! The umbrella is cut at 3.24 and the ball?
I put some glossy accents on the waves for a water effect and added bling to the poodle.  The sunglasses are from the smiley cart.
Yup you guessed it.    I love the dog days of summer!!!  HOT HOT HOT.
Well off to play in the sun.  See you later  lol.
See you.........play nice

Cricut Cardz Challenge #62

Good beautiful morning everyone.  It is going to be a great day here in Florida today so I am posting early so I can enjoy the outdoors............80 degrees later.  I saw this challenge today from Cricut Cardz and thought about balancing all the things we need to accomplish.  The challenge HERE, is to use a cut of a cup on your project.  The inside of this card is special too.  Check it out.

How cute is that?
Recipe:
A2 size card in portrait
All the cardstock is from Stampin Up
DSP is from my scrap stash?
The clown from PDDU is cut at 3.5
Coffee cups From My Kitchen cut at 1.94
Inside additional DSP and a tea bag pocket
Action wobble

I hid the coffee pot on my gypsy and only printed the cups in various colors.  Before mounting the clown to the card with the wobble, I glued the cups to a thin strip of white cardstock and then to the clown.  This allows the whole thing to wobble.  Really worked just as I had hoped.  Hope you like it.

Happy Valentine's Day and Card Challenge

Hi everyone.  Hope you all are having a fantastic Valentine's Day.  I am planning a special holiday dinner (by candlelight of course).  Fresh vegetables with salsa..........coconut shrimp.........oven "french fries".........fresh green beans.....and for desert...Chocolate and bluberries made with chocolate brownie, blueberry yogurt, fresh blueberries and whipped topping all layered pretty in a parfait dish.     Total points plus value 14 for you Weight Watchers out there.  Not bad for a celebratory dinner.
OK on to today's card.  Yesterday my husband and I had the great pleasure of visiting two of my former high school buddies.  Remember I graduated in 1963.  I had not seen them for more than 25 years.  What fun!!!  Lots of stories and laughs.  Today I made a card for the hostess's birthday which is next week.  She and I were best buds growing up.  She had (and still has) beautiful red hair and I was a white blond.  Well now I am a frosted blond with a little help from my friends in a box.  Anyway I have the cutest stamp that I have had forever and it reminded me of childhood friendships.  I am entering this in Karen's challenge, her first one. Something for a celebration. You can see it HERE. I think it came out super.  What do you think?

As you can see I made a lined envelope for the card.
Recipe
A2 size card using Stampin up cardstock retired color
Navy blue mat cut at 5.25x4 from Michael's cardstock
DSP from DCWV Stack 6
Stamp is from Great Impressions and matted on 3 3/4x 3 1/8
white gel stiching added

I found that this stamp is really hard to do clearly so the secret I use is to get out my mouse pad and use it under the cardstock.  The cushion allows for the intricate lines to stamp clearly.  Hope you all like it and have a great rest of Valentine's Day

Paper Cutz Challenge #78

Wow, do you believe three posts in one day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am ready for a drink.  This card was made for the Paper Cutz Challenge HERE.  Make a card using a bee, butterfly, or ladybugs.  Do you believe that this is NOT a cricut card.  I have a really pretty butterfly stamp set so I thought I would make a sympathy card.  Here it is.

Recipe:
White card stock from Walmart  A2 card
DSP from my stash.
Butterfly stamps from Hero Arts
Sympathy sentiment = unknown
Bling from my bling box
Well that is ALL for today.  I am crafted out.  Time to get outside before the sun sets.
See you all later...........play nice.

Flaunt It Friday Challenge

There is a great hop and challenge going on over at Flaunt It Friday HERE  The challenge is to use PDDU and the Raggedy Ann and Andy cut.  I love that cart so I just had to add my two cents.  Here is my card.

Recipe:
Anne and Andy cut at 3.5
Fence cut at 1.47 from same cartridge
grass cut at 1.94 from Create a Critter
The shaped card is from Lacy Lables cut at 5
Sun glasses cut from Smiley Cards at 3.5
Stamp from Michael's dollar bin
Flowers from Jolee's
All the paper from my scraps.
I originally cut another shaped cut from blue to keep the scallops all the way around, but I like the red showing better so I cut off the top scallops and lifted it from the bottom.  I love the way it came out.
What do you think?
OK.  I have one more post to get in today so see ya...........play nice

Vintage Tags

Hi everyone.  This first post is my very first attempt at making vintage tags.  I had seen quite a few on youtube and blogs, but had never tried them before.  One of the crafters I watched on youtube is suziecrafter10.  I don't know her blog name or I would share.  My tags are by no means as beautiful or complicated as hers but I think they came out great...Take a look and let me know what you think.

The first tag is colored with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Broken glass and Tattered Rose.  I found the image online printed and cut it out. The flower at the bottom is made from gathering ribbon.  It has a tulle flower behind it and a pearl center.  There is also tulle at the top.  I am waiting for some special fibers to finish the hanger.  The lace on her dress is stickled with Stickles Diamond.  I covered the whole image with Aleene's Paper Glaze.

The second tag is again a computer generated image.  I covered the tags (TBBM) with designer paper from my scraps.  I put some vintage lace from a doily my mother-in-law crocheted years ago along the bottom.  Added a vintage button I had and the roses from Jolee's.
So tell me what you think
Thanks,  I will be right back.  I have two challenges to enter
See Ya............play nice.

Canada Day Layout

Here is my next project for a few challenges.  First is the Patti-Lynn Creations.  You can see her challenge Here.  The challenge is to use Create a Critter and any cut for any project.  Can you find mine?  Check out the Maple Leaf.  I don't have a cartridge with a maple leaf on it so this is actually the flame from the fox page.  I hid the face and welded three together.  Not exactly perfect but it works for me. The next challenge is from Amanda's Crafts and more Here.  This challenge was to make a scrapbook page of any sort using at least one cricut cut.  Well the maple leaf is one and Canada Day is from Gypsy Font cut at 2 inches.  Last but certainly not least is the monthly challenge from Creations with Christina.  Remember she is doing a 12 month scrapbook challenge Here. This is my February project.

If you remember from my January project, I am scrapping the rest of our 6 week 5 Canadian provinces trip from 3 years ago. (Just a little behind).  These were taken in St. John's Newfoundland.  We arrived on June 30th and Canada Day is July 1.  It is celebrated much like we celebrate July 4th.  Street fairs, pubs, dancing and just having fun.  A good time was had by all.  See you next time in Small Point.
See you later.............play nice.

My Pink Stamper Challenge

Hi Again.
Wow two postings in one day.  Well I was checking out some of the blogs that I follow and found the Robyn over at My Pink Stamper has a great video and a new challenge.  So I thought that I would run right back to my craft room and make a card.  Not that I really need an excuse, you know.  Anyway I can't tell you what the challenge is cause you have to watch her video HERE.  I think this came out so cute.  I bet some of my family back in Massachusetts would love to have this card...............68+ inches of snow so far!!!!!  Anyway here it is.

All the cardstock is from Stampin Up.  The dsp is from Little Guy by ki memories.  I got the preserves cartridge when Michael had their $4.99 sale and this is the first time I used it.  Orange cut at 3.35.  I Peachy Keened it...Yea!!  Added some buttons and the sentiment which is computer generated.
Cute huh???
Well that's all for today.  I have spent way too much time on my blog today and I must go empty the dishwasher before it is time to put dinner dishes in.

On anther note.  I changed the template for my blog.  How do you like it.  I am so proud of myself for figuring it out....
See Ya...........play nice

Made by Momo Tuesday Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today's card is a submission to Momo's Tuesday Challenge HERE.  The challenge is to use black, white and hot pink.  The project must also include a heart.  I think this came out pretty cute. What do you think.

The cardstock is just from my stash, although I believe the pink is a retired Stampin up color.  Believe it or note I don't have a cart with a vase on it so I looked for something I could subsitute.  This is actually the dress on row one of the Gypsy Wanderings cart.  I liked the cutout on the bottom.  This was cut at 4 inches and then I just snipped off the bodice. My flowers are made from hearts punched with my Marvy punch.  I didn't want to make another Valentine card, so this became a thank you card.
The Thanks stamp is from an unknown source.  Super simple card but I like the way is came out.  Of course I had to add some bling to my hearts and vase.
Thanks for the comments,
See Ya later............play nice.

Easter Centerpiece

Hi everyone.  I thought I would do something a little different today.  As I mentioned earlier, I have two craft shows coming up in February.  They are both after Valentine's Day so I need to concentrate on other holidays.  One of the shows requested that I bring something for a raffle.  I decided to make an Easter Centerpiece following the example that I saw on CardzTV.  You can watch Mary's video HERE.  I love the way it came out and I plan to make others.  I know I will do one for St. Patrick's Day.  I will post it when it is completed.  Take a look.  What do you think?

The bucket, raffia, and eggs all come from the Dollar Store.  I used Accent Essentials to cut the flowers.  The large ones are 5.5 and the small ones are 2.5.  I added some stitching on the large flowers and some clear stickles to the centers of the small ones.  Of course I had to Peach Keen them............Luv my faces.
The rest of the cuts are from Create a Critter.  Rabbits and butterflies at 2.5.  All the paper is Stampin Up retired.  I added glitter to the butterfly wings.  These are attached to bamboo sticks with glossy accents.
I luv it ..............
Well company just arrived so I will have to close up the craft room for a while.
See ya later..........play nice

CCC Challenge #60, Tuesday Throwdown challenge #34

Hi everyone.  Today I thought I would post this card that I am entering into the Cricut Cardz Challenge #60 and the Tuesday Throwdown challenge.  CCC challenge is to make a masculine Valentine. The Tuesday Throwdown challenge is to add stitching.  I made a pedistal card using Create A Critter.  Seems like I use that cart a LOT.  They are the cutest images and I love the easy layering.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  This will be my hubby's card.  But it won't be a surprise cause he reads my blog.  Check it out.

The cardstock is from Stampin Up retired colors.  The fish and all layers were cut at 1.03 and the seaweed cut at 2.5.  The dsp is some scraps from a sheet entitled water that I had left from another project.  I embossed it with the cuttlebug circle folder to look like bubbles.  I added glossy accents to the seaweed but it does not show up too well in the picture.  The fish were popped up on foam tame as well as the inside sentiment. Oh yes the pink girlie fish has a bling flower from a Dollar Tree pack. I added some stiching to the fish and the sentiment. Hope you like it.
Back later....see ya............play nice

Congratulations Card

Hi everyone.  Just a quick post to show you all the congratulations card I made this morning.  Our son was recently appointed Superintendent of Schools and this is the card I made for his promotion.

The tan and cream cardstock are from my stash.  The dsp is from K& Company designer paper pad. I love their paper stack.  Nice weight paper.  This is from their 12x12 pack called life's journey.
The buttons came from card kit I have had forever.  The stamp is from Hero Arts. I cut the ribbon from Plantin Schoolbook at 1.83 inches. The medallion is from lacy labels.  Brown cut at 3 1/2 inches and the cream cut at 3 1/4.  All papers were inked with Tim Holtz  tattered rose.  I think it is just the right look for a masculine card.

Thanks for looking.
See you later................play nice
