Good Morning Sunday

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Sorry I have been missing for a couple of days but we were doing some construction work in the back yard.  We built a pergola over our deck to help shade some of the hot summer Florida sun.  It is just about finnished and I will post a picture later.  The funny thing is that is was cool while working...late 50s early 60s.  I was wearing sweats and all.  Saturday morning when I looked in the mirror........wow did I have a sunburn on my face.  Now we have lived in Florida for 25 years so you would think I would know better.  Well I centainly put on the sun screen yesterday to finnish up.  Today is a spectacular day here. Temp around 75 and sunny.  Sorry you guys in NE but I remember.  Will spend some time on a boat with friends then I will be back.  Hope to post a new project later today.
Till then.......see ya..play nice.

Wacky Wednesday Challenge

Hi everyone.  I thought I would make another step card today and post it on my blog.  The Challenge is Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More than favors, Here.   First I must apologize.  The concept for this card is not original to me.  Although I have made them before, I have also seen one on a blog recently.  I don't know who made it so I can't give credit.  Sorry.  Wacky Wednesday Challenge is a color challenge for brown, pink and green.
The cardstock is all from Stampin Up.  The card is formed by placing my 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 piece of cardstock on my cricut mat.  Using my gypsy I inserted a top note shape from Gypsy Wanderings.  I moved it down on the mat so that only the top half would cut.  I think this makes the cutest card.  Bureau scarf (do people still use those?) is punched with Martha Stewart's punch and sentiment is computer generated.  Cute huh?
There are other ideas I can  think of for using this kind of card.  I think the next one may include something warm and cozy..........................hmmm what could that be?
Well that's all for now.  See you later..........play nice

CCC Challenge #59

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone.  I am back with another Valentine card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge. Check it out HERE  I was happy to see the challenge this week was to make a Valentine card for a child using any cartridge and any color.  I did not want to make another Pink/Red card..sorry pink lovers (see previous post).  I recently got the Robotz cartridge when Michael's had their $ 9.99 sale.  I thought it would make a cute card for a little boy.  No frillies.  This cartridge is fun but there has to be a gazillion cuts for each robot.  I have to get one of those sticky pens to pick them all up.  I think the card came out just too cute.

Aside from the base card which is Stampin Up cardstock, all the pieces (1 gazillion) were made from my scraps.  Don't you love it when that happens.  The robot and all his pieces (1 gazillion) were cut at 4.07.
I used some google eyes and a little pink heart button.  The edges were inked with Tim Holtz peeled paint distress ink AND it is all mounted on an action wobble....luv.  The sentiment outside and inside were computer generated.
Notice that with the exception of the button..there is no pink/red.  Love it!
Well back to work.  This blogging is really cutting into my craft show prep....but it is just so much fun.
See You all later.............play nice.

Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Hi  Everyone.  I am back today with a card for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge with Scrappy Moms.  See it HERE.  I made this card for my favorite guy.  The card is a little non-traditional in color but who says everything must be pink or red?  I have to tell you that by the time we get through Christmas, New Years, and Valentine's Day I am ready to use anything EXCEPT pink or red.  Bring on St. Patrick's green!!   I think the card came out pretty cute.  What do you think?

The cardstock is from Stampin Up Retired colors.  the DSP is from last year's K & Company 8.5 designer pad.
I don't have the sweethearts cartridge but I believe there is a heart and a key on it.  I got this heart from Create A Critter cut at 2.56 and the key is from Gypsy Wanderings cut at 2.32.  The sentiment is an old stamp with no manufacturer listed.  I love making step cards.  Actually I love making any kind.  This post is late in the day because my muse was sleeping...............or something.  I added a paper doily behind the heart, some bling to the heart along with gel pen stitching.  The key has silver glitter to give it more of a metallic look.
Well that's all for now.
Bye for now........play nice

Paper Playtime,Fantabulous Cricut, My Pink Stamper

Hi everyone.  Back again.  This time I have made a card for three challenges.  Robyn over at The Pink Stamper is having a birthday challenge..........Happy Birthday Robyn.  Her challenge is to make a birthday themed card or project.  When I saw Minnie's PINK bow, I thought of Robyn.  Check out her birthday party HERE.  The second challenge is for Paper Playtime Monday Challenge. HERE. Anything party related. Fantabulous Cricut HERE is to use a neglected cartdrige.  Well I haven't used Mickey Font cartdrige since June when my grand-daughter and I made a autograph book to take to Disney World.  I think it came out cute.

This is actually two cards in one.  I made Minnie a shaped card welding two together on my gypsy.  She was cut at 5.25.  I then mounted that card to an A2 card.  (Minnie doesn't stand up too well on her chin).  This way I was able to create a double sentiment space.  Inside says May all your wishes come true.  The paper is from my stash and the front of the card is embossed using the Cuttlebug birthday folder.  Make a Wish is a stamp of unknown origin and the inside is computer generated.  Pretty cool huh?
Well back to work.  I'll see you all again soon.

Craft Show Items

Good morning everyone.  I have a couple of posts for you today.  The first is a picture of one of the craft show items that I am making.  This is an altered recipe box.  I originally saw this on Made by Momo.  You can check out that video HERE.  I decided to use these as gift boxes.  Inside I made four matching note cards, a post-it note holder with pen and two gift card holders.  They all coordinate with the box and make a nice hostess or birthday gift.  We have a lot of "snowbirds" where I live and this is also a nice gift to give a friend that is leaving for the summer.
The paper is from a new stack I recently got at Michaels called k i designer paper pad.
This pad has a lot of funky pattens and geometric styles. Good colors also.  The post-it note holder is shown on multiple videos, and the gift card holder is a converted invitation size envelope.  This video is also on YouTube but I forgot by whom.  This kind of product usually sells well at my shows as the attendees are more adult oriented that kids or teachers.  (Remember, I live in Florida).
That's all for this post.  I'll be back a little later with another.
Bye for now............play nice.

Birthday Card

Hi everyone.  Well my hubby is off playing golf so I have lots of time to play in my craft room.  I thought I would make a card for a couple of challenges.  The first is the Throwback Thursday Challenge which you can see HERE.  The challenge is to use Every Day Paper Dolls or Paper Doll Dress Up.  The card must also include embossing of some kind.  The second challenge is from Paper Cutz Challenge HERE.  This card can be any them and color combination you would like.  This is what I came up with.
The clown and all parts were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up at 3.5.  Cardstock is from a retired stash of Stampin Up that I got on Ebay so I can't tell you the color names.  The sentiment is from a set of stickers in a card kit.  I added tiny stars, gold brad buttons, stickles on the bow and a present button from a grandmas button bag (Michaels).  Peachy Keen face........................LOVE those stamps.
I love this card because it can be used for a boy or girl.  It is always nice to have some of those available.
I have been having so much fun blogging and hopping that I am getting behind in my craft show projects.  I have two in February. They are both after Valentine's Day, so I am thinking green, purple, yellow, pink.  Guess what holidays.  Well back to work........................................well maybe I need to finish this blog hop I have been doing first.  There are over 40 talented bloggers participating...Check it out HERE

Cricut Cardz Challenge

I bet you thought I fell off the planet.  No just got company for a couple of days.  My sister and her husband are visiting from Kennebunk ME.  Too busy talking to craft much AND my craft room is in the guest wing  ( really one side of our house ) and there is a pocket door closing it off.  I didn't think they would appreciate my playing in the craft room at 5AM. Well I'm back.  I have a project to post for this week's Cricut Cardz Wednesday Challenge.
My son's family in Mass love to ski and snowboard in Maine and New Hampshire. I decided to make a squash book for my grand-daughter to keep some snow pictures in.  I like to look at snow.........in pictures only.

The snowman is from the Hello Kitty cartdrige cut at 3.55.  I hid the face and used a peachy keen face.  Then I decided he should wear shades so they were cut from Smiley Cards.
Scarf and gloves are Jolees.  He looks nice and warm.  DSP is from my Christmas scraps. I added stickles for a little bling.  He looks nice and warm.
That's all for now.  Working on another project I hope to post later.
Bye for now............play nice.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Fantabulous Cricut has a challenge every Monday.  I am just finding some of these and having fun submitting my projects.  This week the challenge was to use something sweet like cakes, candy and such.  As a weight watcher for 1 1/2 years (down 73 pounds), something sweet to me means a banana,  Well even though I don't eat them that often I can still craft about them.  Here is my card.
The card is 5x5 craft cardstock.  The candy store and candy man are from My Community.  Store cut at 4.5 and man at 2.98.  The colored stock is from my scraps file............see previous post.  The walkway is freehand and the sentiment is computer generated.  The inside sentiment says" And So Are You....Happy Valentine's Day.
Fun to do
Well that's all for today.
Bye for now...........play nice

Organization

I just had to share with you a storage tip.  How many of you have a drawer or box close at hand that is filled with scraps.  The papercrafter's nightmare....I sometimes dream of being chased by little pieces of paper.  Well Michaels had the Memory Keeper pouches on sale this week 12 x 12 for $1 each.  When I got there there were just a limited amount and various colors.  I wanted clear so that I could see the color of the paper inside.  Well there was a package of 13.x 13 (10 pack) that was not on sale and marked $12.98.  Guess what, with the 40% off coupon I got those for $8.48.  Ten is the magic number to separate the colors.  Red and pinks go together and all shades of the same color are combined.  Anyway they work like magic.  There is a snap at the top so paper stays in the pouch and they stack right on top of my paper sorter.  Take a look.
I taped the label from the package to my paper storage so you all could see what it looked like.  If you still have scrap problems, check this out.
OK back soon with my Fatabulous Cricut Challange card

Paper Playtime Challange

Good Monday morning everyone.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  We did up until Sunday night when our Patriots forgot to show up for their football game...............color me sad.  Oh well, bring on the Red Sox.
We live not too far from the Tampa Bay Rays spring training location so activity should be heating up soon,  Opening day is Feb 25th.  ALREADY????
Well on to crafting:  I made this card for the Paper Playtime Challange this week.  You must have the word love on the card.  Went to Michaels yesterday and was able to pick up 4 cartridges at $9.99 each..Yipee!!!!
One of these is Hello Kitty.  So I just had to try something out this morning.  She is soooo cute.

Cardstock just from my stash.  I wanted to try a shaped card today.  Used my gypsy...lov..lov.  to create the card and all the pieces except the flowers.  All cut at 5.47 The floweres are made with little heart punches from my marvy punch.  The sentiment is from stampin up.  I heat embossed it with some kaleidoscope embossing power from Stamp Stuff.  If you haven't tried this color, it is unbelievable especially on dark paper.  A rainbow of colors. Almost forgot the bling on the flowers.  How silly of me.  She's a cutie.
Well I have to go play with my other new cartridges.  See you later,  You can click Here to visit the Paper Playtime Challange site.

Paper Cutz Challange

Good morning everyone.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the weekend.  I hardly have time to craft with all these great blog hops going on.  There are two that I am currently hopping around.  One starts at My Pink Stamper and the other one begins with Alex over at You had me at craft.  Check them out.  I wanted to make a card to enter the Paper Cutz challange this week.  There have been a lot of firsts for me this past week; including first blog and first challanges.  This time the card or project had to use a tag or tags.  Check mine out.
The tag is from TBBM cartridge.  I don't know the page number because it is on my gypsy.  It is Row 1 button #7  I cut it on blackout at 3.25 and punched my own hole.  I heat imbossed some hearts with pearlescent orchid Brilliance Ink. The cardstock is from stampin up and the DSP is from Color Boc.  I really like the combination of pink and green. The bear stamp and sentiment are both from Stampin Up. I popped up both the tag and the heart sentiment and added a big bow at the top of the label.  I think he is cute.
Thanks.  Bye for now, I have to get back to hopping.

Craft Show Items

Good Morning Everyone.  Well I must tell you that it is COLD here today.  27 degrees right now.  Did I mention that I live in Southwest FLORIDA?  My cardinals had to skate accross the fountain to reach the bird feeder and the cat won't even sit out on the lanai to watch.  I saw the picture posted by Kerry yesterday of all the snow up north and I almost expected some here.  Enough already!!
I have two craft shows next month so I am busy working on some projects.  I thought I would share a couple with you today.  This post shows some of the altered wooded frames that I got from Michaels.  Two of them are covered in DSP and one is painted.

The pretty burgandy flowers are made by gathering ribbon and forming it into a rose.  I hot glued some perl buttons for the centers. The bling on all of the come from reflections or studio 18.  For the center frame I used tule in the corner.  The heart frame is covered in paper reflecting the song Amore and I used prima flowers for the corner treatment.  I like the way they came out. I will be back a little later to share some other items if the sun ever comes out so I can take a picture.
That's all for now

CCC and Scrappy Moms Challange

Good morning everyone.  Chilly today in my part of the country (Southwest Florida).  41 this morning.  Bet that sounds like a heatwave to some of you but my feet are frozen!!!
OK here is my card for today.  I am entering it in two challanges. The first is Cricut Card Challange where we have to make a project using red, black and white only.  The second challange is at Scrappy Moms Stamps where the project was to use the Birtday Bash Cartridge.  I don't have this cartridge, so I used the alligator from Create a Critter which looks alot like the one on Birthday Bash.  Hope you like it
The red, white and black paper are all from my stash.  I gave the gator(cut at 3.5) some google eyes and used my white gel pen to give him some alligator skin.  The balloons are all cut from Birthday Cake at 1.90.  I used my gypsy to put this card together. White diamonds glitter and some frosted lace stickles round out the card.  The sentiment was computer generated at 29 points using BaaBookHMK bold. Lastly I added a red ribbon to the balloons.
I thinks it came out cute.
OK see you guys later with a short post of some of my craft show items.
See Ya...........play nice

Throwback Thursday Challange

Wow, two posts in one day again.  This has got to stop..........................well maybe not.  Christina over at My Creative Time is hosting a Throwback Thursday Challange so I thought I would join in the fun.  The challange; use any old cartdrige and make any project, as long as it contains a heart.  Here is what I came up with.
I used Paper Doll Dress up for the cutie cut at 3.5 and Lacy Labels for the scolloped heart, cut at 1.90.  The smaller heart is just a sticker I found in my stash.  DSP, sentiment and the heart trio all from a page kit from ColorBoc.  Of course I had to add a little stickles cause you never have too much bling.  Also added a little pink blush (Hampton Art) to her cheeks.  I think it came out soooooooooooooo cute!
Well that's all for today.
See Ya........play nice

Paper Playtime Challange

I thought I would enter the weekly challange over at Paper Playtime . This is only my second challange as I am still so new at blogging.  The challange is to make a card using white, black and silver only.  I think it came out pretty good.
The base white and floweres are from Gina K designs,  The silver is aluminum foil that I embossed with my cuttlebug folder (sorry forgot the name) Thinking of you stamp from hero arts.  I added silver brads and a little silver stickles for added bling. Check out the site to see the other creative projects out there. It's paperplaytime.blogspot.com. ( Sorry I am still trying to learn the linking process.)

Another get well card

Wow! two posts in one day. I am on a roll.  A friend of ours had a fall and injured his shoulder.  I thought this would cheer him up a little.
That's all for today.  I have to do some work on my craft show projects.  Show is in February.  Will post some of these later.

The cardstock is Stampin Up.  Turtle is cut from Create a Critter.  On the front cut at 1.82, and the inside cut at .75.  I used Peachy Keen paperdoll faces because I haven't got my critter faces yet.  I think they came out cute.  The sand and sky created with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - broken china and tattered rose.  Shell stamp from Stampin Up.  I popped up the turtle on foam tape and added some glossy accents for interest.  I think it came out super cute.
See you later......play nice

New Cartridge

Well I went to Michaels yesterday for some of their $9.99 cartridges advertised in the Sunday flyer.  When the doors opened there were none to be had.  They had been selling them since Wednesday..Boo.  Well I looked around and found the Cricut Cake cartridges on sale for $4.99!!!.  They have some cute images so I grabbed one of each.  This is a simple card using the Cricut Birthday Cakes cartridge.  Wanted to make a get well card cause this time of year it seems that lots of folks are sick with colds..............me included.
The flowers were cut at 4", The patten paper is from a new stack from k i memories.  If you like bold designs, geometrics, and circles, this is a great pack.  The orange dsp is from a fall mat pad from K&Company.  Thinking of you stamp by Hero Arts.  Diamond glitter and bling added to the flowers and stickles to the bow.
There you have it.  I see a valentine image on the holiday cakes cartdrige that I will have to try.
See you later......play nice

Scrapbook challange

Well I decided to take on the "challange" from Creations with Christina and make at least one scrapbook page per month.  I will have to make more than that or this book will take 5 years or more.  Did I mention the trip through 15 US states, 5 Canadian provences and 6000 miles in 6 weeks?  Well needless to say I have a ton of pictures. I did about half of them shortly after the trip (3 years ago) but I need to do the rest.
I don't do too much journaling on individual pages as I am writing a journal page for each section.  If you take the book apart, you would have a book in one hand and photos in the other.
OK on to my first posting of a scrapbook page.
This page is referring to the ferry that carried us and our car to Agentia Newfoundland from North Sydny Nova Scotia.
The water is a cool paper called Classic Sports Series: Waves from Life's a beach Cartridge cut at 12 inches:
I think the poka dot paper is from Grammas Kids pac of a year ago(whoops I made tags out of the postboard cover so I no longer have the name)
The Ferry was cut using Gypsy fonts at 3.39 and welded using the gypsy.
Hope you like it

I am still experimenting with picture taking and photo editing.  If anyone has comments or suggestions, I would love to hear them

First Picture

Hey!  You know what you get from a frozen cow..................................ICE CREAM.  I know that's really bad.  Anyway I thought for my very first picture post I would try the blog challange over at madebymomo.  Actually it is called a Tuesday challange so I am just a little late.  Joanna at scrap-making.blogspot.com requested the challange be something made with snow.  Now I have lived in Florida for 24 years, but I remember well the cold New England winters.  I am sure this would be my sentiment exactly.  Here goes:
I used my gypsy to design and size the card
From Create a Critter the cow is cut at 2.61 and the barn at 1.54
Hat 2.64, boots 1.98 and fence 2.49 are all from Paper Doll Dress Up
The blue paper is from a stash I have had for ever and I don't know who makes it, but I thought it looked like a winter snow sky. All other cardstock is from stampin up.  I added some flower soft to highlight the snow. I used the eyes of a peachy keen everyday stamp and a wobble for the cow.
So there you have it. My first attempt at adding a picture.  This is fun.

Next I am going to follow Christina's  lead, creationswithchristina.com, and attempt a scrapbook page.  We spent 6 weeks traveling in Canada when I first retired and I have only scrapped the first half of the trip.  Did I mention that the trip was three years ago........I'll be back later to show you the outcome
Bye for now...Play nice

Hello, I have arrived

Dream it..... Create it .....Share it
Oh my gosh, I did it! This is kinda scary but I love it!. I mean imagine me joining of all you TALENTED crafters out there………..but I love it! Imagine me actually writing a blog……..but I love it!
I’ve got quite a learning curve to be as comfortable as you all with linking, imbedding, picture taking and videos……………but ……….you guessed it. I love it!
So here goes.
My name is Donna and I have enjoyed crafty things just about forever. Lord knows I am old enough to almost remember forever. How many of you remember Tri-Chem liquid embroidery? Wait! If you hold up your hand I will know how old you are. Suffice it to say, I have shoes older that most of you guys out there sharing your amazing talents, but even though I am late to the party, I plan have fun.
Yup, I did the Tri-Chem. My family didn’t dare lay anything down or it would end up painted. I had the big box of paints and carried them everywhere. Home parties were a big item.
Of course most young ladies of my generation learned to knit and crochet. Now I am left handed, so I became pretty adept at reading instructions backwards. If you see me knit, I look strange. I was taught by my right handed mother, therefore I lodge the right needle in my lap and work around it with the left. Nothing to it.
If I never make another crocheted Christening gown it would not be too soon. Baby yarn is sooooooooooo tiny. It took forever to do all those shells.
Anyway, back to the present. After 20+ years as a Registered Nurse, I retired a couple of years ago and have finally found time to do the crafty things I love. Jewelry making, and now my paper crafts. I had a cricut for about a year before I really understood how creative I could be using it. I applaud Robin from mypinkstamper.com  for turning me into a cricut nut. The other two ladies who must share in my transformation are Dawn from dawnsstampingthoughts.net (The very first blog I ever went to) and probably most of all Momo over at madebymomo.blogspot.com. She is so fun to listen to and I love watching her videos.
So here I am entering the big world of blogging. I plan to post often. Maybe not every day cause I don’t know if I’m that interesting. I also plan to include pictures of current projects and hopefully in the future film a video (Well let’s not get carried away here).
Hope you join me and we will play together nice.
I plan to Dream it……………….Create it……………….and Share it.
See you soon,
Donna
