Shore do love you summer fun card, Fantabulous Cricket challenge #65

Hi Everyone.
Well I just came in from looking at my oranges.  Poor things need water sooooooooooooo bad.  No rain here in about 2-3 weeks.  I have the prettiest brown lawn.  Oh well it will rain sooner or later.  Sooner please.  Today's card is for my grand-daughter in Mass.  She is 10 and loves swimming in her big backyard pool.  Now that it is finally warm enough to swim.  Thought she would get a kick out of this card.  I am also entering it into this weeks Fantabulous Cricket Challenge a card with a sun on it.  I am pleased with the way it came out considering that I only had a tiny piece of the blue water paper and I wanted to make two cards.  Check it out.

Isn't she just adorable?  Card is A2.  Papers are torn scraps.  Star fish, shell and sentiment stamps from Stampin Up. Crab and Co. set. (retired).  Little girl stamp is from Me and my big Ideas.  Clouds made with Tim Holtz broken china ink.  Sun is cut from Life is a beach (I think)  I looked at so many suns that I forgot which one I used.  Peachy Keen face on the stamp.  Fun, easy card to make.
Well that's all for now.  See you later..............play nice.

A Special Birthday Card

Hi everyone.
I wanted to show you a special birthday card I made for my sister's birthday next month.  I wanted to use one of her baby pictures so I tried to go with a vintage theme.  This is not the usual for me and it was a challenge.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  What do you think?

The paper is from Deja Views global treks paper tablet.  I picked this up at Big lots:
Card is 5 x 7 Bling and flowers are prima and the rickrak lace is from making memories. Diatressed with Tim Holtz fired brick.
Hope you like it.

From My Kitchen Birthday Card

Hi everyone:
Today I want to share with you two of the cutest birthday cards.  I went shopping at Michaels and picked up some of their 4//1.00 open stock paper.  The paper became the inspiration for the colors and cake on these cards.  As you can see there are several options for color combos.  I am in the process of uploading a video to youtube but it may be too long (think I talk too much)lol.  If I can't get it published cause I've never had to shorten one before, this may be your only view.  Let's hope.
Note:  It is now Thursday.  I originally had this ready yesterday but after waiting 1 1/2 hours for the upload, it would not publish cause it was too big. AHGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!  Shortened the video today.  It is kind of choppy as I have never edited a video before and I don't have a clue.  Anyway it finally uploaded.  Enjoy.

Recipe:
Cardstock from recolections - Michales
DSP open stock recolections - Michaels (cupcake)
Ribbon and bling from my stash
A2 size card
Green and pink mats cut 1/8 in smaller
DSP cut 1/4 inch smaller
Sentiment from hero arts
Cuttlebug scalloped ovals
Pink Stickles and Green glitter

Hope you like it:  Fun and simple to make.
See you soon. Have fun..........................play nice.

Paper Playtime Challenge # 48

Hi everyone:  Today's card is a Z fold card I made for the Paper Playtime Challenge # 48.  I have made Z fold cards before but I had never made one with a fancy edge (scallops).  I saw a tutorial where the edge was made by inserting a 12 inch decorative edge strip in between two card blanks.  This works fine but I had this heavy weight dsp from K and Co.  that was two sided.  This allows you to create edge without making two cards.  I am super pleased by the results.  Check it out.

As mentioned, the paper is from K and Co.  I cut a scalloped circle with my cuttlebug and embellished this with a medallion made from the same dsp.  Cardstock from recollectons.  Ribbon from Michaels.
I originally cut the card at 5 3/4 inches on the high side and 4 1/2 inches on the short side.  This allows for the edge punch to shorten the card to A2 size.  The card was then scored at 3 1/4 and 7 inches and folded.  Note that the edges do not meet.   This makes the card much more demensional in my estimation.  I also have this card opening left because I tried the folds both ways and wanted the printed side on the front.  Lots of fun.
Back tomorrow with a new video.
See you later.........................play nice.

Throwback Thursday Challange, Lacy Labels

Hi all:  Well I'm back again.  Seems like my creative muse has finally awakened.  Two cards and posts in one day!!  This card I made for an order I have for a couple of birthday cards.  I was looking at Emma's blog over at My Creative Time yesterday and saw that she was having her throwback Thursday challenge.  Use any Cricut lite cartridge and add some bling.  WELL...................I only have one lite cartridge so that was easy.  Guess I have to go shopping....  I think the card came out great.  The directions are in the video below.  Oh sorry, I forgot to take off the zoom so some of the action goes out of frame.

Pink and Black Anniversary card - Paper Cutz Challenge #95

Hi everyone:  Today I am showing you an anniversary card that I just finished for my Nephew and his wife.  Thought I would make something for the Paper Cutz challenge this week.  Any project you would like but you must use pink, black, and white.  This was really a make as you go card as I just kept playing around with it till it felt right.  I think it came out just fine.
What do you think?

The card is A2.  DSP is from DCWV Stack 6 that I have had for a long time but it is one of the few packs I have with black patterned paper.  Pink cardstock from Stampin Up.
Pink Mat 5.25 x 4
Black stripe mat 5 x 3.75
Cut out pattern from dsp and mounted it on pink cardstock
Flower from my stash- think it is Kand Co.
Hope you like it,
I will be back shortly with another card and video as soon as it finishes uploading
See you later......play nice

Micky Cricut Birthday Card

Hi everyone.  Today I made a birthday card for my sister's great grand-daughter.  She will be one this month.  I have watched her grow up as her mother is a facebook friend and she loves to take pictures.  She will be having a Minnie birthday party and although I don't have a Minnie stamp, I wanted to make her something Disney.  The card used Lacy Lables, Stretch your Imagination and Plantin Schoolbook.  I love the way it came together.  I give the directions and sizes on my video below.

Sorry about the glare.  I used artificial light and it made it quite shiney.

Fancy Frames

Hi Everyone.  Today I am sharing with you a couple of cards I made using the leftover pieces of dsp after cutting out shapes with my cricut.  Waste not want not you know.  The first card used a lacy labels cut and the second was a top note.   This treatment can be used for lots of different cards and depending on what is left on your paper you design around it.  The turtle card I am using for the Birthday Sundaes challenge which is to make a masculine card.
Check them out.

I explain the how toos and the materials used on the video:  Take a look
