Anniversary Cake

Hi everyone,
Well I just wanted to share the finnished product with you all.  The party is not till next month but I was told today that surgery for a new knee would be April 12th so I wanted to get it done ASAP.  Time consuming but fun.  I think Beth and Jim will like it.  What do you think?

Beaded lace thank you card

Hi everyone. Boy this took forever. Not the card, uploading the video. I ended up doing it three times. It was actually supposed to be up yesterday but I could not get it to publish.  Today I tried again and it was being loaded upside down.  FINALLY made it.

Isn't that the prettiest thing?  Can't wait to get more lace and beads.  I can think of all kinds of possibilities.

Sorry no matter what I do I can't get the video to show here correctly.  I put the link in.  Thanks
That's all for now.  Off shopping for a new recliner.  Remember I am getting a new knee soon.  Think I will need this chair.  Ouch!

Easter mailbox

Hi everyone
Well you all must think I left town.  Not really.  We had company for dinner Sat (9 people) and I cooked ribs, buffalo wings and home made Boston baked beans. among other things.  Took me two days to cook the ribs but they were perfect.  I also made daffodil cupcakes which are stuffed with lemon cream, and decorated to look like daffodils.  Kinda labor intensive.  Anyway it was a great time.  Sunday I just sort of crashed and worked on my wedding cake. There is a picture at the end of this post.  Very preliminary, but making all the favors and boxes takes time.
Today I thought I would digress a little from cards to make an Easter mailbox for my grand-daughter.  It will be filled with candy and surprises.  This was my first attempt at altering these and after a little trial and error I think it came out cute.  I am entering this in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge, something springy.  Also over at Scrapbookaholic by Abby challenge 2 is a spring time theme.  Check out both of these.

Recipe:
Box from Target dollar bin
Paper from Color Bok
Flowers from Lacy Labels cut at 1 3/4, 1 1/2, and 1 1/4
glittered to death
tag is from my stash
I paperquilled the bunny on it.
Ribbon from Michaels
What do you think?
Just as an aside, here is the picture of the first layer of the wedding cake to be:
Well that's all for now.  Will be back soon with another project and hopefully a video.

Hi everyone. Sorry this took so long to post.  I made this card yesterday and want to show you all the process.  There actually was a blog challenge somewhere that asked for home made flowers, but I look at so many that I could not find it again.  Anyway I love this card and the flowers.

They are fun to make.   Check it out.

Smiley Card Birthday Card

Hi guys,
Sorry that this posting is so late in getting to my blog.  I actually did it yesterday but I had the devil's own time getting the video from Youtube to here.  It kept being transferred in a zoomed in format so you couldn't see the whole frame.  Trying again today.  I made this birthday card for three different challenges.  First there is a new challenge site called Birthday Sundaes.  This is their first challenge and they are all about birthdays.  The second blog is Fantabulous Cricut Challenge me Monday #52.  This challenge is to make a birthday card in celebration of Robin's birthday.  Finally, there is the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Moms Stamps.  Challenge is to use the Smiley Cartridge.  Lots of times I don't have the cartridge they are using (I only have 20), but I happen to have this one as a download on my gypsy.  So here is the cute little card I came up with.

Recipe:
cardstock from Michaels
DSP from ki memories designer pack
Base cut from Lacy Lables welded at 5.5
Present cut from smiley cards at 3.41
semtiment stamp unknown
Well hope you like it.  I think I got the video in right this time but it was a struggle.  I will have to check the how to again.
Back later

Shutter Easter Card

Well hello everyone?  I am a little punch drunk( is that what I am drinking)? After watching the video you will understand.  I made this shutter card for my sister Janet and her husband for Easter.  They live in Maine so I bet anything that looks springy is welcome.  John is an Episcopalian priest and I thought they would like this card.  I have to tell you that the card came out beautiful but the video belongs on comedy central.  I could have done it over but why not show the "real me".   I promise that I did get it right later.  Check it out.
Oh I think I will play along with the Scrappy sisters challenge called think spring.  Have a look.

I am not going to give a recipe as I go over it in the video.  I forgot to give the measurments(amoung other things) so I included a picture of the template.
Hope you like it.  Let me know.

Lucky Charm Blog Hop

Hi everyone.  Welcome to my blog and the Lucky Charm Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from the very talented Yolanda you are in the right place.  If you just happen to pop in and want to play along you can start at the beginning with Giselle at Cross my heart Papercrafts.
This blog hop is all about making something for your lucky charm.
Well I couldn't talk about lucky charms without including my husband of 46 years.  Although it is not my main project for today's hop, I put together a quick card to wish him Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Here "she" is.
This lady is one of my favorite stamps.  She actually comes with the sentiment Hang Loose (if you get her meaning) but I masked that to change the sentiment. Stamp by Emerson.
Now on to my main project.  The lucky charm I am celebrating today is my sister Phyllis.  As kids we were not that close as she is 9 years older than me and was usually charged with babysitting the terrible todler.  As we grew older we have become best friends and before we moved to Florida, spent many weekends at each other's house.  Lucky me, in 2002 she moved to Florida too and for a while we lived on the same street.  We moved a short ways away but still talk every day and see each other about once a week.  Some of her favorite things are taking pictures, decorating for ANY holiday, and participating in golf cart parades.  She lives in a mobile home community of more that 1100 homes so these parades are something else.  What better gift than a mini album for all her St. Patrick's Day Parade pictures.  Here it is.

Pockets were made with designer paper from Amy Butler
Side tags made on my gypsy welding a shamrock (PDDU) to a 5.75 TBBM tag
Lots of different embellishments.
See the video below and I will walk you through it.<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wCYRgjP_kKY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Now for some blog candy.  I have a DCWV scrapbook kit for one of you hoppers entitled
Ciao Bella (how beautiful)

You don't have to be a follower but I sure would appreciate it. Leave a comment and I will announce the winner on Tuesday,
OK your next stop is Carol.  See what great project she has for you.  If you get lost, the complete list is below.  Thanks for stopping by

Thank you card for Cricut Cardz Challenge

Hi all you crafty people.  Today I made a card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge.  This card had a recipe to follow:
1. Blue, Yellow and White
2. A thank you card
3. A border cut from any cricut cartridge
I have seen several joy fold cards, but I had never made one so I thought that this was a good time to try one.  This card is rectangular but the folds open bottom to top not side to side.  I actually tried to film  while I was making the card, but after three quarters of the card was done my husband came around the corner calling me.  Oh well just as well cause THE CAMERA WAS NOT TURNED ON!!! Phooey.
OK so I thought I would make another card similar and film that one.  I shut the camera off to get something instead of just editing that part out so guess what. Now I have two videos and I don't know how to put them together.  Well I will get one eventually.  This is a learning process for me.  So back to the card.  I like the way it came out. What do you think?

Base cut at 5 1/2 x 7 1/4 scored at 4 1/4
center card 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 3/4
Mats are from scraps and cut 1/4 smaller
Ribbon from Michaels
Boarder cut from Elegant Cakes stretched to 5 1/2 on my gypsy
Scalloped circles cut at 3, 2 3/4
Circle at 2 1/2

Well that's all for now.  Hope you like it.
See you later....................play nice

Video Tutorial Making a Boutonniere

Wow, three posting in one day.  I must need a job.  Seriously, it is fun to spend time crafting even when the sun is shinning.  This is the second video (actually the third but I can't show the other one till the blog hop Thursday).  Thought you might like to see how I create a boutonnier

A couple of announcements

Just a quick post to update you on a couple of announcements.
First Janice over at Cricutology is giving away a beautiful border punch.  She is celebrating more than 300 followers.  Jump over and check it out.  While you are there, check out some of her videos.  They are great.

Second..................Don't forget the Lucky Charm Blog Hop this Thursday.  It starts with Giselle over at Cross My Heart Paper Crafts.  Postings will be up by 7AM EDT.  This will be my first blog hop and I am super excited to share my project.  There will be lots of talented crafters out there passing on some inspiration.  Check it out!

Thinking of you card

Good morning friends.  Today I thought I would make a Thinking of You card.  These are always good to have on hand.  It could be used as a get well card, sympathy or just a miss you card.  I will finnished the inside when I need to use the card. I am also entering this into a few challenges that I will list below the picture.  I am happy with the way it came out.  What do think?

Recipe:
5 inch square card
Green mat from K & Company cut from Lacy Labels at 4.75
Butterfly from Gypsy Wanderings cut at 2.63
Flower is Prima
Ribbon from Michaels
Sentiment stamp from Hero Arts.
Green stitching added.
Added gold leafing and glitter to butterfly along with green bling
I am entering this into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: square card green and gold
Paper crafting Journey: things with wings
Getting Cricky:  All a flutter
Delightful sketches: Butterflies
Hope you like it.

Scrapbookaholicabby Challenge #1

There is a really fun challenge over at Srrapbookaholicabby.  Make your own holiday challenge.  Take any day and holiday in March and make a project for that holiday.  Lots of different special days.  I had this digi stamp (I don't have very many) but when I looked at the holidays I had to go with the WHOLE month as National Red Cross month.  I made this card for a friend of ours that had surgery TWICE and is down in the dumps because she is not bouncing back like she used to.  She is in her 80s.  Thought she would get a kick out of Nurse Gillian (from Prairie Fairy designs) and the sentiment I composed for the inside.  What do you think?

Recipe:
A2 card
Blue cardstock from Stampin Up
DSP from color boc pattern pack
Image from Prairie Fairy designs at 3.5 inches
Sentiment my own
As I mentioned, I don't have two many digital stamps but I could not resist this one as I am an RN.  She is dressed in blue for the Red Cross.  Cute huh?

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge 50 Cricut Cardz Challenge 65

Good Sunday morning everybody.  It sure is a beautiful one here in Florida.  Will reach 80s today.  Wow, I just made it to the Challenge me Monday #50 over at  Fantabulous Cricut Challenge to use a tree in your project.  Can't believe it is almost Monday again.  Crafting everyday but I have been working on my blog hop project so I haven't posted since Friday.  Happy to say it is finished!!!  OK back to today's card.  This is also being entered at Cricut Cardz Challenge 65, make a tall card.  I don't make too many of these but some themes seem to lend themselves to this size card.  I like the way it came out. What do you think?

Recipe:
Card is 9x4
I made the background by masking and using a cloud shape and pigment ink.
Sand is brown cardstock torn at top
All cuts from Life is a beach
Tree cut at 6 1/2
Chair cut at 3
Pineapple drink cut at 1
I actually colored the small areas of the drink as the pieces were so small to cut.

I haven't done the inside sentiment yet cause it could be used for several different occasions.  Birthday, Father's Day etc.  Hope you like it.
